The Latest Index
In April 2025, the AUTO1 Group Price Index revealed a continued upward trend in used car prices, with the index recording a 2.2% month-over-month increase, reaching 141.9. This marks not only the largest monthly increase since the beginning of the year, but also the strongest month-over-month growth since June 2023.
Since January, used car prices have climbed by 5%, rising from an index value of 135.2 to 141.9. Year-over-year, prices are now 2.8% higher compared to April 2024, when the index stood at 138.0.
Used car prices remain significantly higher compared to pre-pandemic levels, with the index in April 2025 being 20.8% higher than in April 2019, when the index was at 117.5.
